him, or her? ahh, it doesn't matter after all. winter is a behated season of mine, no euphemistic kindness to it, I can't wait spring. okay, I feel a bit down, and won't even promise to say anything worth sharing about Madár :) it's another month, and I didn't want to leave it postless. well, should have?

Today fell the 1st snow, Madár loves it and is enthusiastic like a little puppy. We do the all day routines, and happy to have this job where i can take my dog with me, my collagues love him a lot.
I have no official result yet, but it really seems that Madár is the top international coursing dog in magyar agár this year. a title he gained I think :)

on the 14.07. Madár gained again 2nd place, his bro, Repülj Darumadár won! It is them, who will participate as MA males on Coursing ECH. Pretty exciting, only 11 days left. We are training, and training... okay, not always that hard ;) but I try. =)
Tomorrow I try to catch our vet, and let her do the paperwork: sign in all the vaccinations to his passport.

I have also a creative project going on, slowly but surely it will happen ;) more later guys.

I consider myself in a very happy and fulfilled state of mind. I will start a new post-graduate course in september, supervision. I am really looking forward to it!

Well, well... what a day :) Madár's 2nd coursing competition, 2nd qualification competition for ECH, and 2nd place gained!!! hurray!!! :) We had great fun, and Madár is more eager to the lure then ever, we started now a systemathic training for him, the goal: to get the best out of his potential at ECH 25-26.07. And of course to glorify the beauty of Gods creation by making a sighthound do, what he was created for: to run. :)

I know, I have been very lazy, since january no update.... and understandably I lot has happened with us.
I couple of days after my last update, Madár had been spayed. More in hopes of smoothing his temper, and having no problem in future, when a little MA bitch would pop into our men's world :) He is doing good, In fact I don't see yet any change.

I cannot overemphasize, how much I love spring, and summer, we are having now....

Madár has turned out to be a very talented coursing hound, he succesfully mastered his license runs, and has a qualification competition also done in Hódmezővásárhely, having gained the 7th place out of 11. This saturday, the 30.05. we are going to Kecskemét, the final qualification competition towards European Coursing Championship! Its no secret, that we hope to be able to go to Czech Rep. to the ECH.

Oh, by the way since february I have a new job, where I can bring Madár everyday, everyone loves him, he is just spoiled with attention, and petting and sometimes with tidbits as well... :) that's dog heaven on Earth, I guess. :)

Hi folks, it's been a while, that I wrote something here, actually there is not so much to report, only little things here and there. I think this is the must awful time of the year: mud, rain, cold, dark. It's not that easy to walk Madár, menaing to tire him down, for fewer people are out ther ewith their dogs.
Anyways, Madár is doing good, I have some pics about him, but I can't find my cable to download them from my cellphone... too bad.

A lot happened since my last post....
Madár and I had been attending tp Club Show and Europe Show, but its better to stay with the term: neglected. This ment the end of Madars show "carrier", in hopes of more pleasent activities in the futurem than standing for hours in chaotic anger. brrrr...
I moved back home to my parents, Madár enjoys the adoration(?:)) of the family, our pack now increased to 5 two-feeted, and 1 four- feeted :)

Yesterday we had experienced something tragic and sad: Madár and a newly found vizsla pal were chasing playfully a dog which lived in the Margit- isle as an astray, and was -to be honest- very hostile. Had lived.. 'cause he ran onto the road and very unfortunately got hit by a car, and died... We, the owners were like 150 meters away, couldn't do really anything, we has seen only the final result. I was very unsattled and sad. It could have been easily Madár as well...

Better news: Madárs behaviour settled back to his original sweet temper, I hope he outgrew his adolescent craziness.

Indian summer begins

My favourite time in the year is coming: a gentle, wise autumn with decreasing sunshine, colours, fruits, and fun. Madár is maturing , he is just a lovely guy, turning into "manhood".
We moved to a new house, wich I realy don't like, beides others, there are 4 dackles, who sincerely hate Madár, but are surely jealous of him.
On the 9th of August Ősagárd happened, a sighthound show and fanciers meeting. We enjoyed it a lot! It was a great sight to have all those sighthounds marching on the main street of the village, around 200!

yesterday we had a great walk with Ádáz & owner on Hajógyári- sziget.

it was the 1st time for both of us, and we really didnt know why we have been waiting for so long to visit this spot.
on the Pest side of the island the beach was so much fun for the dogs, and a relieving coolness for us, the owners ;P
We met bunch of retrievers and labradors, who were learning to swim, that caused quite an amusement, as Madár and Ádáz were trying to catch the essence of this whole "swimming thing", but with moderate results :)))
It surely wasnt the last trip we've had....

We' ve had two experiences: a bad, and a good one. The bad one was, that I couldnt find anyone to represent me on the Budapest Cacib show to be Madars handler, since I realized, that I fixed another program on that date. It was a bit frustrating, cause I couldnt enjoy anything from the show, I really wasnt in the mood to take a look on other dogs.
The good one: yesterday we visited a racing field for the very 1st time at Isaszeg, and Madar got a chance to run a straight line, and afterwards 270 meters, a 3/4 circle. I wasnt sure if he would get the point of this whole thing... but Madar persuaded me, that he has the right genes: as the lure arrived to him, he began a crazy chase, and didnt stop till he cought it!!! He was so passionate, a really thrilling look! Ékes' owner brought us, and Ádáz, another mag-friend accompanied us as well. Altogether it was a day with much fun!

Another month passed by, and it wasn't without occurences. I had been away for more than 2 weeks to Ireland, had come back on the 27th of April. Madar was homed during that at Ékes's owners, and he had a great time having an agar and a lab mix fellow to play with all day long... He'd lost some weight through the constant games, and learned some discipline, and enjoyed himself a lot.
We take every chance to enjoy this beautiful springtime, of which I am so grateful after a long winter. We are looking for the Budapest show on the 10.05.08. his first hungarian Cacib show.

Last weekend I had been away from home, Madar behaved well, though he chewed again on my bag after returning home... he couldn't resist that lovely scent....
Today, on my birthday, there is a BKV-MÁV strike in Budapest, so I canceled all my work, and soon we'll go on a walk to the forrest... I hope it won't rain.
Today I measured Madar's height: 72 cm at shoulders. He was 11 months 2 days ago.

Madar had a fantastic debut in Serbia. On his 1st show ever he gained from young class Best of Breed!!! My friends Tunde and her husband Gabor took him, and the reported me that he behaved very well!
On saturday, the 30th of march, they had a nice walk in Szeged by the river Tisza, and afterwards they went to Serbia.
The brindle bitch is Tunde's agar: Ékes. the other fawn one is Csicsi.

We have Easter monday, I write from my parents flat. Madar enjoys springtime, though we had even some snow these days. He has been shedding, continuously for a month now. It is time to get him an own place to sleep, my little darling destroyed my beds, it is horrendous.... In April I am going to leave to Ireland for 3 weeks work, interpreting, during that time good friends of mine will take care of Madar and will even show him in Serbia.
We discovered a nearer spot to play: Városliget! it has a lot of dogs!
Madar got his rabies vaccination, and is ready to be brought to Serbia!

Hey folks,
I decided to have a blog for my hungarian sighthound in english, so that many more people could get to know this wonderful breed, the Magyar Agar. Though my future plan is to have a mate for Madár with time, and I can inform you here about the progress.
